Frequently Asked Questions

  • Olea Skin & Aesthetics welcomes women, men and teenagers (with appropriate consent) seeking professional support for their skin health.

We work with a wide range of skin concerns, including acne, congestion, sensitivity, redness, pigmentation, uneven texture and age-related skin changes.

Whether you are new to professional skin assessment and treatments or have previously received treatments elsewhere, care is tailored to your individual skin needs, goals and stage of life.

  • A dermal therapist is a qualified skin health professional with training in skin biology, skin assessment and non-medical skin care and advanced treatments.

At Olea, care is provided exclusively by a university-qualified dermal therapist who holds membership with the Australian Society of Dermal Clinicians (ASDC), the peak professional body for dermal therapists and dermal clinicians in Australia.

  • You don't need to know. That's what the consultation is for :)

  • At Olea, treatment recommendations are guided by a comprehensive skin assessment, including a detailed review of your skin health, concerns, treatment history and goals, to determine which treatments are most appropriate for you.

Some treatments, such as skin needling and advanced peels, may require preparation before treatment can proceed. Assessing your skin first helps ensure treatments are safe, appropriate and likely to achieve the best possible outcomes.

If you're ready to get started straight away, the Olea First Visit Experience combines a comprehensive skin consultation with an Essential Skin Therapy treatment, making it an ideal first appointment.

  • Sometimes. A new skin consultation may be recommended if it has been more than 12 months since your last appointment, or if there have been significant changes to your skin, health, lifestyle or treatment goals. This allows us to reassess your skin and ensure your treatment plan continues to meet your needs.

  • Absolutely! Not everyone needs or wants in-clinic treatments. A skin consultation can be used to review your current routine, identify any gaps or concerns, and develop a personalised home skin care plan tailored to your skin, goals and budget.

  • The timeframe varies depending on your skin concerns, goals and treatment plan. Some people notice improvements after a single treatment, while other concerns may require a series of treatments and consistent home care over time.

Because healthy skin revews gradually, meaningful results are often achieved through a combination of professional treatments, appropriate home care and patience. During your consultation, we will discuss realistic expectations and help you understand what may be achievable for your individual circumstances.

  • No. Product recommendations are always optional.

However, home care is often an important part of maintaining healthy skin, supporting treatment outcomes and, in some cases, preparing the skin for advanced treatments. We will review your current routine and, where appropriate, recommend adjustments or additions based on your skin needs and goals. This doesn't necessarily mean replacing products you already use and enjoy or recommending a complex, multi-step skincare routine.

Our aim is to help you build an effective and sustainable routine that works for your skin, lifestyle and budget.

  • At Olea, we use a carefully selected range of professional skin care products, devices and treatment technologies, including Circadia skin care, Dermapen microneedling and Dermalux LED therapy. Each has been chosen for its quality, safety and ability to support healthy skin function and treatment outcomes.

And yes, they are products and technologies we use ourselves and recommend to our family and friends.

  • Appointments can be booked online at any time using the Book Now buttons throughout our website.

A 50% deposit is required to secure your appointment and is deducted from your treatment fee on the day.

We require at least 48 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations, late rescheduling, late arrivals and failure to attend may result in the loss of your deposit.
